Masuria is famous not only for lakes — it's also a treasury of cultural heritage.
1. HOLY LINDEN SANCTUARY (Polish History Monument since 1983) — baroque basilica from 1693 with famous moving organ from 1721.
2. AUGUSTÓW CANAL (UNESCO candidate) — 102 km waterway with 18 wooden locks. 19th century engineering masterpiece.
3. ELBLĄG CANAL (Polish History Monument 2011, UNESCO candidate) — 84 km waterway with 5 inclined planes transporting ships over 99 m difference. Second such system in the world.
4. GRUNWALD BATTLEFIELD (Polish History Monument 2010) — site of the 15.07.1410 battle where Władysław Jagiełło defeated the Teutonic Knights.
