- Augustów Canal (1839): 102 km waterway with 18 wooden locks — UNESCO candidate, built in 12 years.
- Wolf's Lair: Hitler's secret headquarters 1940-1944. Here on 20 July 1944 the failed assassination attempt on the Führer (Operation Valkyrie) took place.
- Masurian people: Masuria is the cradle of the Masurian people — ethnic Polish-Protestants who remained loyal to Prussia after 1525.
- Łuknajno — swan capital of Europe: UNESCO Biosphere Reserve with Europe's largest concentration of mute swans — up to 2,000 individuals in winter.
- Krutynia — "Polish Amazon": 102 km kayak route through 14 lakes — Poland's most famous canoe trail.
- Holy Linden Sanctuary: famous moving baroque organ from 1721 — trumpet-playing angels during the show (5 times daily).
- Stańczyki Viaducts: "Masurian Aqueduct" — Poland's highest railway bridges (36.5 m), on a never-finished railway line.
