The Masurian Landscape Park covers 53,655 ha of Masuria's most beautiful lakes and forests, including the southern part of the Great Lakes region. Established in 1977.
Key attractions: Lakes Nidzkie, Bełdany, Mokre, Roś, Pisz Wilderness (one of Poland's largest forest complexes), the Krutynia river (classic kayak route).
Fauna: beaver (reintroduced in the 1970s), wolf, lynx, elk, deer, wild boar, black stork, lesser spotted eagle. Lakes: eel, zander, vendace.
Nature reserves: Czaplisko-Ławny Lasek (heron colony), Krutynia, Borki, Łuknajno (swans). Educational trails, observation towers.
